This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.  Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a Relativity Applications Engineer and Hosting Technology Manager to join our team in Seattle. 

This position is responsible for the planning, implementation, and execution of strategies ensuring an exceptional customer service experience in the use of the firm’s Relativity data hosting platform.  To perform this position successfully, it is necessary to collaborate on an ongoing basis with various client groups, Technical Support staff, and Practice Support Group staff.  In addition to strategic responsibilities, this position is responsible for technology management, training and professional development for firm attorneys, staff, and clients, and for generating team deliverables as is needed and appropriate. This position will have indirect reports to start, and eventually direct reports as the program matures.

Responsibilities
  •  Guide Relativity Application Development and Hosting operations across offices, including the development, review, revision, and implementation of application engineering and data hosting best practices on an ongoing basis, and development and implementation of strategies for a continuously improving customer service experience.
  • Provide daily operational support for, and administration of, the firm’s Relativity data hosting platform to ensure a consistent, enjoyable, and uninterrupted client experience, and oversee the execution and delivery of multiple projects for clients working with our various offices.
  • Cross-train attorney, paralegal, and Practice Support Group teams on critical workflow implementation and best practices, including consulting with both internal and external clients to ensure optimal Relativity hosting, analytics, document review, and document production workflows, tools, and applications for specific projects.
  • Oversee workspace template planning and development to ensure accuracy, a consistent client experience, and continued innovative use of existing and emerging Relativity applications.  Oversee group permission template planning and development to ensure adherence to instance and workspace security best practices.
  • Monitor the overall health of the Relativity platform, and perform the analysis necessary to make recommendations on configuration adjustments and platform maintenance required to ensure optimal performance for end-users.  Manage and analyze all Resource Pools, and determine optimal configurations for different clients and projects.  Manage and monitor all Relativity servers and workers: SQL servers, Web Servers, IIS App pools, Agents, Conversions (Service Bus), Imaging workers, Invariant workers, Analytics.
  • Develop custom Relativity Applications needed to streamline migrations and automate workflows.
  • Contribute Relativity hosting deliverables, where necessary, and review the work of others for quality and accuracy, including performing ARM archives, ARM restores, and building Event Handlers.
  • Provide client technical support, including analyzing and diagnosing client issues, and trouble-shooting reported platform issues and errors related to both front-end and back-end (Relativity SQL tables and/or on the physical/virtual servers) resources.  Provide prompt, clear, and timely communications of issues and resolution status case teams and colleagues in order to ensure client requirements are met.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of Relativity upgrades.
  • Work with internal and external clients to provide reliable, project-specific data Hosting cost and timing estimates.
Qualifications
  •  BA or BS degree preferred.
  • Relativity Master and Infrastructure Specialist certification preferred.
  • Relativity Certified Administrator certification required.
  • 10+ years’ experience providing Relativity Application and Hosting support.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of a professional services organization, including interpersonal skills, are required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and proactively in written and verbal interactions, with an aptitude for explaining technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, problem solving, and data analysis skills.
  • Outstanding client-focus and ability to deliver quality work within hard deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control required.
  • Must be team-oriented and able to share information, goals, and opportunities.
  • Previous experience in a law firm or professional services organization, supporting a multi-office environment, preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high pressure environment while maintaining thorough attention to detail.
  • Must be able to rapidly master newly introduced systems and process changes.
  • Familiarity with typical corporate cybersecurity policies and best practices.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
