This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.  Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for an experienced Practice Management Specialist to join our team in New York or Washington D.C.

As a member of the Practice Management team, this position will support the Director of Practice Management and the firm’s Consumer Financial Services practice on initiatives that enhance the business and strategic operations of the practice groups.

Your contribution includes:
  • Providing support on preparation of communications related to winning new work that will enhance the groups’ profile and reputation.  
  • Leading the collection, storage, maintenance and distribution of lawyers’ experience while minimizing the administrative burden on lawyers.
  • Conducting research in support of new business opportunities as identified by attorneys or Director of Practice Management.
  • Coordinating the negotiation and management of sponsorships including payment, marketing and attendance at sponsorship events. 
  • Coordinating seminars, webinars and events for assigned practice group. 
  • Attending practice group meetings, assist with financial report development, and provide marketing support and general practice group operational support.  
  • Working with the marketing and communications team to create, update and organize marketing collateral and related records as well as practice group’s blogs and social media platforms as necessary. 
  • Tracking and monitor practice group budgets.  
  • Assisting with additional projects as necessary.
Join us if you have:
  •  3+ years of professional services marketing is desired. Law firm marketing experience or experience supporting a multi-office environment is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across all firm functions as well as with clients and other business contacts. 
  • Demonstrated writing ability and excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills are essential.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and composed manner.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Products required, i.e. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, ability to take ownership of projects, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while also acting as part of a high-functioning team.
  • College degree and demonstrated academic excellence is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
