This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for an Audio Visual (AV) Engineer to join our team in our Seattle office.    
The Audio Visual (AV) Engineer is a key role within our firm, responsible for the maintenance, security, and troubleshooting of all AV software and hardware. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service orientation and in-depth knowledge of AV hardware, software, programming, and physical wiring.

On a typical day you will:    
  • Deliver consistent technical support and problem-solving assistance for all audio-visual technology, encompassing legacy video codecs, audio DSPs, control system software, peripherals, and Teams room devices for the smooth execution of meetings, conferences, and AV events conducted within the firm's offices or with external clients and customers
  • Develop, implement, and document maintenance schedules for audio-visual equipment across all firm locations
  • Develop and maintain documentation of the firms AV systems
  • Coordinate routine testing and training with regional technicians
  • Maintain proficiency in all supported hardware, software, and applications. Research and coordinate software upgrades to keep audio-visual systems and equipment up-to-date, leverage new features, and guarantee vendor supportability
  • Recommend selections for new AV installs or technology refreshes
  • Collaborate with the firm's Security department to ensure audio visual systems are hardened appropriately while maintaining the required functionality
  • Manage aspects of firm-wide audio visual meeting from the Seattle office through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of audio visual network equipment in coordination with local office techs
  • Provide off-hours/mobile support as necessary, including support for early morning, evening, or weekend conferences, meetings, and escalated audio visual support tickets
  • Maintain a professional, resourceful, and client-service oriented attitude at all times
  • Communicate with meeting organizers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of meeting needs and requirements; provide expert advice and recommend alternate options as needed in order to optimize service levels to all customers
  • Partner with the Marketing department, Corporate Events Planner, and/or Professional Development Department to successfully manage high-profile events within the firm by meeting with firm event planners and associated guests to guarantee their needs are addressed both prior to and on the day of an event. This includes ensuring all equipment is set up and tested, monitoring events, and maintaining regular communication with customers throughout the duration of an event
  • Assist the Concierge Team as needed for room setups and meeting support needs

Join us if you have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in providing direct audio visual technology support required
  • Strong knowledge of audio visual equipment including codecs, Teams room hardware, microphones, audio DSPs, control software programming and associated wiring required
  • Strong knowledge hosting or cohosting virtual meetings and webinars using Teams, Zoom or WebEx, and, the features and capabilities of these platforms required
  • Demonstrated experience with Crestron, QSC, BiAmp and Shure software, hardware and wiring, certifications preferred
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service and troubleshooting skills, problem solving, and follow-up skills required
  • Ability to communicate in a pleasant and effective manner with attorneys, staff, and external clients required
  • A strong attention to detail and quality control required
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, composed manner; ability to quickly assess and adjust approach to fit required
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required; must be a team player
  • Experience in a full-service conference hotel or a law firm or professional services organization, supporting a conference center or conference room floor, preferred
  • Ability to support IP telephony, multiple party conference calls, video conferences, webcasts, web-based seminars, PowerPoint presentations, etc. required
  • Experience with PDF production/manipulation; editing and duplication; file conversion (such as .VOB or .AVI file to an .MP4 file), video-editing; etc. required
  • GED/High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree, preferred

Washington State     
The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $91,000 to $99,000 ($46.67-$50.77 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program.  For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly. Additional voluntary programs include:  voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance.  Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
