Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has an exciting associate opportunity in its nationally-recognized Tax-Exempt Organizations Group.  We are seeking a mid-level associate attorney with at least four years of law firm experience, strong research and writing skills and good academic credentials to join our Foundations and Nonprofits (Tax-Exempt Organizations) Group, which represents some of the country’s leading philanthropists, foundations, cultural institutions, universities, hospitals, environmental groups, advocacy organizations and social and racial justice organizations.  A strong federal tax background with exposure to tax-exempt organizations is preferred.  The group is collegial, fast-paced, and provides excellent opportunities for professional development and promotion.  The position may be in San Francisco, Seattle, or Portland, depending on the candidate’s preference and circumstances. However, admission to practice in California is required for all candidates.

The annualized salary range for this position in Washington and California is $165,000 to $355,000.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus and health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 10 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program.  For full-time employees, the initial sick leave benefit is 80 hours of sick leave per year.  Attorneys generally take approximately three weeks of vacation from work each year, and it may vary depending on the needs of the clients and the firm.  Additional voluntary benefits programs include voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long-term care, and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
