This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a Litigation Docketing Specialist to join our team in our Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, New York, or Washington D.C. offices.

 

This position will be a part of the national docketing team, reporting to the Docketing Supervisor.  You will be part of the regional and national docketing team that provides support firm-wide.

On a typical day you will:

  • Enter data, log and process all docketing requests assigned to you, using the firm’s docketing software
  • Calculate rule-based litigation deadlines
  • Respond to case teams to ensure that docket entries are accurate
  • Assist in the investigation of docket issues and respond to procedural inquiries from attorneys, paralegals and secretaries
  • Know how to electronically monitor and research court cases with the use of various online resources to maintain an accurate record
  • Answer procedural questions rated to date calculations and filing requirements and all inquiries from attorneys, paralegals and secretaries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Know all applicable court rules regarding filing of documents in state and federal courts and calculation of deadlines related to those filings
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position

Join us if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • 2+ years of experience as a docketing specialist, ideally with experience with litigation in a law firm environment
  • Knowledge of basic litigation docketing, calendaring and Civil Procedure
  • Experience using docketing software (CompuLaw (Vision), MyView.preferred)
  • Knowledge of various court websites, docket searching and document retrieval databases (i.e., PACER, Lexis/Nexis, West CourtExpress, and federal/local court websites)
  • Strong knowledge of state e-filing procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite applications, including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Superior accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • The ability to interpret and analyze information
  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, but also a reliable, conscientious, and flexible team player

Washington State  

The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $72,000 to $84,000 ($36.92-$43.08 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program.  For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly. Additional voluntary programs include:  voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance.  Commuter and Transit programs are also available. 

 

California

The annualized salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $71,000 to $83,000 ($36.41-$42.56 hourly); an in San Francisco is $79,000 to $90,000 ($40.51-$46.15 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.  Additional voluntary programs include:  voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance.  Commuter and Transit programs are also available. 

 

New York 

The annualized salary range for this position in New York City is $71,000 to $88,000 ($39.01-$48.35 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.  Additional voluntary programs include:  voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance.  Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
