This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a HR Data Analyst to join our team in Seattle.

This position will support DWT’s goal of being a top place to work providing leadership with the necessary information on metrics that determine how we attract, retain, develop and engage our non-attorney employees. This position will be responsible for gathering data points for various systems, analyzing the data, and designing clear, concise reports that tell stories in a usable, visually stimulating format for various audiences.  Additionally, this position will provide overall support to the employee onboarding and retention efforts through reporting and analytics.

Data Analytics
  • Partner with the Chief Administrative Officer, HR, Staff Talent Acquisition, and Finance to create and deliver best-in-class reporting and analytics in support of the overall business and HR priorities
  • Produce and present ad hoc, monthly and quarterly reports (e.g., talent acquisition, performance management, retention and attrition tracking, employee engagement, etc.) to support leadership reporting needs
  • Use analyzed metrics to produce meaningful reports that tell a story
  • Create visually understandable presentations to support analysis, identify trends and provide insight
  • Communicate key highlights from the data to stakeholders and leaders
Non-Attorney Employee Onboarding
  • Work with members of the Staff Talent Acquisition Team, Human Resources, Office Administrators, Hiring Managers, and other relevant staff, and new hires to evaluate the onboarding process, identify obstacles and gaps, make recommendations for overcoming roadblocks to the Manager of Staff Talent Acquisition and provide support to implement revisions to the process.  Assist with training and documentation as needed in the context of implementation
  • Provide regular status updates regarding new hire onboarding and integration
  • Provide additional support to Office Administrators and hiring managers as needed to ensure the successful integration of new staff
Non-Attorney Employee Retention
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources and Senior Human Resources Manager with employee retention efforts
  • Using HR-conducted exit interview data, look for trends in reasons for attrition, and communicate areas for focused improvement
  • Conduct research of specifics staff or groups of staff, compile information to identify trends and areas of improvement
  • Support efforts to assess employee morale by administering employee engagement surveys, relaying feedback to appropriate sources, and driving consistent support to all offices across the firm
  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics and reporting required; experience in HR environment preferred
  • Experience in a law firm or other professional services organization is preferred
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel (conditional formulas, pivot tables, formatting, charting, etc.) and PowerPoint required; deep experience with an HRIS, preferably UltiPro, and Tableau software, preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience interpreting data to recognize and communicate trends which will help leadership take action
  • Ability to manipulate data across multiple systems
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing, synthesizing, and presenting data in a simple, business-focused presentation format
  • Strong communications skills and client service both verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of a professional services organization
  • Proven ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and drive results through internal partnerships
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Experience with process improvement and documentation preferred
  • Ability to work independently, organize assignments, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
