The Los Angeles office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has an exciting opportunity for a senior associate or counsel attorney. We are seeking an attorney with a minimum of 7 years of experience to join our film and television legal services group. The position will focus on entertainment-related transactions and development and production legal matters involving top producers of content across all platforms, scripted and unscripted.

Essential Responsibilities:
Negotiate and draft film/television/new media agreements covering all facets of development and production including option/purchase agreements, co-production and production services agreements, distribution agreements, financing agreements, talent agreements (writer, director, and actor), license agreements, and other production-related agreements; and counsel clients on various matters to ensure compliance with applicable employment, privacy, and health and safety laws and regulations.

* JD and member of the California State Bar (active and in good standing);
* 7+ years of experience in-house with a studio or production company or with a major law firm/established entertainment boutique law firm;
* Entertainment transactional experience required;
* Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills;
* Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and computer literacy;
* Able to work independently and as part of a team;
* Strong work ethic;
* Able to handle multiple, high priority tasks in a fast-paced environment;
* Precise attention to detail;
* Responsive and a problem-solver;
* Able to supervise associates.
