Job Description

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a junior-to-mid-level associate to join our thriving communications practice, which was recently recognized as "Law Firm of the Year" in Communications Law by Best Lawyers & U.S. News.  The position is focused on representing telecommunications, cable, wireless and other service providers before the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the Federal Communications Commission and related litigation and transactional matters.  The ideal candidate will have previously worked at the CPUC or have at least two years of law firm experience as a regulatory associate representing clients before the CPUC or another state or federal agency.  We will, however, also accept applications from recent law school graduates and litigation associates who are looking to specialize and transition away from litigation.  This is an excellent opportunity to receive mentorship and grow in this exciting practice area. Strong writing and research skills and excellent academic credentials are required. California bar admission is preferred but we will consider applications from out-of-state candidates who commit to joining the California bar after joining the firm. The candidate can be based in either our Los Angeles or San Francisco office.

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is an AmLaw 100 law firm with ten offices nationwide. We are relentlessly committed to client service and look for candidates who share that commitment. At DWT, client service means having empathy for each client’s and each lawyer’s work and personal pressures, business objectives, and legal needs; anticipating their needs; and having the capabilities and commitment to deliver what matters most to them.

To apply, please submit your cover letter, resume, transcript, and writing sample (10 pages max.) to Marissa Sandoval, Recruiting Specialist, Lawyer Talent Acquisition. We would appreciate you specifying how you heard about this position.
