This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.  Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for an enthusiastic Billing Specialist to join our team. DWT is a full service law firm with more than 500 attorneys practicing in offices across the United States. Your contribution includes:
  •  Using Elite Enterprise to process all prebill revisions and generate invoices in a timely and accurate manner
  • Reviewing pre-bills and invoices for accurate client and matter set-up, including matter coding, billing rates, formatting, and templates
  • Ensuring invoices are compliant with attorney instructions, client guidelines, and internal protocols
  • Working with other Accounting teams to ensure invoices properly include electronic billing information, accurate billing rates, and unapplied/retainer account applications
  • Partnering with assigned attorneys and secretaries on billing solutions and ideas for complex and unique billing arrangements
  • Responding to attorney inquiries regarding work-in-progress records and general billing requests
  • Becoming familiar with alternative fee arrangements, including volume/floating discounts, capped fees, fixed/flat fees, percentage discounts, etc. and ensure proper application of agreed-upon arrangements to invoices
  • Producing statistical reports and spreadsheets showing billing and rate information, upon request
  • Assisting with Accounting projects and engage in process improvement efforts, as needed
Join us if you have: 
  •  3+ years of relevant experience in a professional office environment, law firm experience preferred
  • A Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Accounting degree a plus)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to build effective relationships with all levels of staff and attorneys
  • Excellent customer service 
  • Exhibit a high degree of critical thinking and ability to problem-solve 
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and quality control
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to heavy workloads and new assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. with occasional overtime as necessary. 
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
